Brown Slime

Anyone know what this stuff is? I clean it up and a couple days later it's back. Is it some sort of waste? Algae?

Looks to me like dinoflagellates maybe. Along with some Green bubble algae and possibly green hair algae.

Are you using RO/DI water or tap water?

Thanks. I'm using water I purchase from my lfs. Is the water the main problem? I should mention it always shows up in the exact same spot.

I don't know if it is your LFS water or not? What are your water parameters?

How much / how often do you feed?

I'm currently only testing for ammonia, ph, nitrites, and nitrates. Ph is 8.4 and everything else is 0. I feed once a day. I feed pellets to my one clownfish and see him eat every single one. I was told by my lfs that the Spectrum pellets I use create more waste because it is less digestable/usable by the fish (though this contradicts everything I've read online about Spectrum).
