calling all computer geeks

now keep in mind this will be for some major gaming so it has to be great with graphics and speed. what do you guys think?

I bought the Geforce nvidea 8800gts, if you want a super gaming computer buy the best video card you are willing to pay for. You also want a minimum of 2gb of ram, all your games coming out now still don't require more than that. I would also go with a dual core AMD procecessor and AMD motherboard, they tend to have faster processing speeds. also make sure that all your hardware can be connected with the newer types of cables, (the name escapes me at the moment) you dont want to use the old ribbon ata cables.

 

your thinking of SATA cables. also the mobo is an EVGA motherboard that supports up to a quad core and thats what im gonna run on it. with two one gig sticks of ram and two more slots for upgrades later if needed

those quad cores are bad ass chips

 

hell yeah and they're way cheaper then you would think

 

right after i got my computer from dell they came out with the quad core i wish i could have waited a couple months i have a pent D processer

i wiah i could but i really dont need to and the wife would kill me.

 

tell her it broke and then you found the right part and it just happens to be a quad core

 

if she can use it she knows that it is not broke or she would just tell me to use the other computer.

that is my plan is to save for a new tank and some more lights.

 

thats not bad either but being that im 16 i dont save i just spend and i happen to love electronics and marine fish so when i spend it lightens wallets by a ton

 

i use to be able to do that but now i have 3 kids and a house payment truck payment and so on. but i still would like to spend so the wife has to keep me in check. or i will spend and spend.

 

The only thing I would definetly change would be the harddrive.

And if its just not enouph storage you could just grab a 250gb or whatever you would need for other data (music/pics whatever)

Depending on how hard core you would want to go, you could upgrade to the 9800 GX2! You would need to change your power supply as well because it takes an 8pin. I would also check out this memery here.

i like the fact that that hard drive is 10000 RPM and i guess i could just buy another 7200 RPM hard drive and then run both with the OS on the 10000

 

also that is a crap load of RAM for 110 dollars
