Can I overskim my tank?

I have a 24 gallon aquapod and a spare protein skimmer just sitting around. Its an aqua c remora that I was using on a 55 gallon. I just want to get my water chemistry back in order and the stupid sponge filter isn't really doing enough for me. Can I get this to work?

Sure. No such thing as "over skimming". Skimmers aren't as efficient as the manufacturers make them out to be.

i would mostely agree with capt'n but i will say this, skimmers do pull out some trace elements from the water, so, i suppose depending on just HOW HARD you're skimming, you could deplete them, but, i'd think that youd really have to be doing something radical and borderline silly.

yea i think even if you had 2 skimmers rated for double you'd prolly still be safe, i think you might start seeing sometihng if you were to go much farther than that, (meaning that you might be able to measure some change) but even then, i dont think you could do enough to really hurt much... again, i dunno, its just my theories...
