can i put chaeto algae in display tank ?

    can i put chaeto algae in display tank ?
    because i have no sump and wanna reduce my nitrate this way ...
    what do u think ???

    Yes. If you want to keep it in one place, you can take a clear plastic container and punch a bunch of holes in it for water flow. It won't keep all of it together, but it will be better than nothing.

    I got a small plastic bucket make many openings in it for water flow and will fix it in the corner of the tank .. then put in it chaeto ... will i need to cut them when it grow more out side the bucket ????

    Yes, if the chaeto starts growing well, you will have to remove some of it once in a while to give it more space to grow.

    This seems kinda like a cool idea couse when the chaeto starts growing out of the bucket you can have tangs in there picking at it. If your tank was bigger that is.

    I've used a clear plastic container with holes to hold cheato in my main display. The trick is to make sure there is strong flow thru the cheato -if not the cheato will grow red slime on it.
