Can my tank handle another fish?

Hey,
I currently have 10 gallon tank with a blue damsel fish and a chocolate chip starfish. I am wanting to add a clown fish to the tank but I don't know if the tank can take another fish. My LFS says I can but based on what I am reading online it does appear I can. Any thoughts? Thanks.

+1 Erin....you can maybe add a 2nd fish, but you'd need to work extra hard to keep your parameters in check...not to mention that those damsels are a pain! In a small confined place, they will beat up any fish you try to put there.

Hello and welcome to the site...glad to have you aboard. If you have good husbandry habits, then you could add a clownfish.

I think I would say no based on the fact the damsel is more than likely going to beat the new fish to death. But you could replace the damsel with a pair of clowns.
