Can the edges of chalices turn white to grow?

I'm wondering if the edge of a chalice that is "growing" can turn a different color than the rest of the coral, but because it's growing. Mostly a white. Not completely absent of color like it's bleaching, just a little more white/clear

Most corals will have whitish colored flesh where the coral is active growing and then over time color up. But yes, I do believe chalices can change color where they are actively growing, I just don't think that is what you are seeing

Well the coral is overall looking very healthy, and has even started getting some new gold colors on it, but the part that seems to be growing just looks a little strange in a corner. I guess the best way to put it would be "whitish colored flesh" like you said.
