cant get my Phosphates down.......need a village opinion

Ok I have done everything I know of to get my phosphate down Ive done 10% water changes and 20% water changes and cut back on feeding to once a week still Im getting readings.....Im at 0.5 right noe and after my water change 2 days ago it just went down to 0.25......Im having a huge amount of aldea popping up on the glass.....anyone care to chime in with a idea

Try running some phosban.
Also, test the new salt water. It could be the source of the phosphates

You should get a phosphate reactor. They are relatively inexpensive -- around $40 online.

Ok do you think a maxi-jet can run a little fish 150 It says get a pump for a 100gph and turn it down to 65 or 75gph......what do ya thing

A MaxiJet would be fine. In fact, with phosphate media, slower can be better.

I wish I had seen this thread earlier. A fuge only 10% the size of the main display filled with chaeto and a strong florescent light brought my phosphaates down from 10ppm to zero. Use a fuge!
