ive decided to scrap the idea all together, i did find a 6 bulb t5 unit thats afordable so im gonna go with that

ive often wondered what k rating the new car bulbs were but never thought to use one on a tank,and just for the info on reflectors they are usualy built in to the bulb its self,but knowing what we do about k ratings and par it makes sence the newer blue bulbs would penitrate better sunce the blue wavelength is the deepest penitration wavelength,and would also do really well in wet or raining situations

Only if the bulb itself didnt get wet. Theres o-rings on them and the reflectors arent built in.
