Alright starting the build thread, part of this will also be the DIY stand Im working on, am taking photos now.

Picked the tank up today, wrong color trim, am going to sand and repaint, the lights already came in, the RO/DI unit comes in monday, pics pics and more pics on the way.:bounce::^::bounce:

So for the measurements, there are 2x6 and 2x4's. The 24's are cut at 40 inches tall there are only 4 of them which are in the middle. The 26's are cut at 18 3/4 in for the depth of the tank and the long ones are 48 3/4's in to insure wiggle room. there are a total of 8 short 26's and 4 long 26's the far right of the picture you will see 2 boards that are the same size these are left overs.

Total cost plus wood screws that are #10's at 2 inches long was only $28.-- and some change.

Standard 2x4 and 2x6 Pine by Canfor Southern Pine.

it looked darker than regular pine. almost like some hardwood 2x4's. what do you plan on skinning the stand with?

Man that's looking good so far Cathic! I wish I had known lumber was so cheap I thought I saved money buying my stand.

Thans guys, so with some careful consideration ive added an aditional 5 boards to the stand design all 40 in vertical boards, which works out well because the boards only cost an additional 5.-- plus i picked up another 50 box of #10 2" wood screws for the additional boards to be secure.

The whole thing if goes as planned will be fully constructed by the end of the night, so I will try to get those pictures up fast.

Also not sure what im going to skin it with yet, ive looked around at some different things, but havnt cut anything since i want exact measurements after the tank is built, this design does incorporate room for a sump and also includes the woodwork to add cabinet doors if anyone is following this thread for a how to guide.

Nice man, i need to build a stand for my 32 Gallon. Any tips?? Im just worried that what i build wont be strong enough! hahaha :D
