centipede

Hello:
I seen what looked like a centipede coming out of a rock and stealing food from a crab.
Could not see the end but it was at least 3 inches long.
What is it. Looks bad. How to get rid of?

If it was pink/tan/gray/red, it was a bristleworm. I bet you have hundreds in your tank and don't even know it! They are probably the most common hitch hiker and are great cleaners.

You don't want to know!! Seriously, there have been people that have found guys that are several feet long in their tanks.

But most of them don't get any longer than 6 or 8 inches in our tanks :D

Just DON'T grab it with your bare fingers. Stings like a MF

Soinds exactly like a bristleworm, they are very good for your tank, keep the guy there. Once you get some preditors ie fish in there it should hunker down a bit more in the day.
