you want to add one of these to your tank?!?!?!
Dude some of the parrotfish i have dived with have been like meter and a half long!!!
They are huge!! Doubt anywhere would sell them for aquariums.

it is a member of the parrotfish family I believe.. and no it wouldnt be reef safe if I am right.. someone may know more about it

My local guy has one.. Ive never seen one and its doing fine in his tank..
thats why i ask if anyone has ever kept one..

its soooo beutiful in person !!

Really?? Jeeez, i have seen some huge parrot fish, didnt even know they would be considered for home aquariums. :?

Definitely not reef safe, they feed on the algae inside corals. And they get way too big for most if not all home aquariums, most places say as big as 3.5 feet some have said as long as 5 feet.

Spoke to my fish guy.. I had the wrong Name for the fish its actually a

name : Quoy's Parrotfish
scientific nae :Scarus quoyi

did some research seems to be ok for me..

no, its still going to need a huge tank, and it will still not be reef safe. It might not be eating the coral, but they are known to damage them pretty heavily keeping their teeth sharp and in trying to go after the algae around the corals.
