Chaeto refugium

I see many people with Lr and sand in their refugium with their chaeto. Is this necessary as mine just chills at the bottom of my refugium

Nope. It just gives more surface for bacteria and pods.

+1 kb....my 45g sump included a bit of miracle mud and a couple pieces of rubble. But my 125 sump has no sand or rocks. My chaeto tumbles around freely. Make sure there's some type of movement for your chaeto....they like it :)

whats it mean if you cheato sinks like a ROCK!!!
