Chaeto wasting away!!!

Yeah so my Fuge had a ton in it and my tank never has Nitrates but over the last few months it has been disappearing.

I have rock and Chaeto in there and there has been a 3" Blueface Angel living in there but I find it impossible for him to eat that much and I feed him daily.

It started shrinking well before he moved in as well. I have kept it with only water coming out of my Carbon Reactor and it still kicks up a million particles when I move stuff and there is no sand in there.

That might be part of your problem. My 45g had chaeto in it, and boy did that baby GROW...one day, it stopped growing, and died off.....at that point, I had low bioload, and zero nitrates. It pretty much starved.

i think the cyano you are experiencing is out competing the cheato for the nitrates

So what can I do if that is true. The chaeto is almost gone. I don't want the cyno to even grow.

you need to get rid of the cyano and try and get the cheato to grow more. Try putting in a new bulb for the cheato

I will try. There isn't much chaeto so I don't know. Man I do not need a nitrate issue cuz my acro just got its color back and is growing just recently like over the weekend.
