I have mine in the fuge under only 30 watts and its doing just fine and growing pretty fast...The light i have is connected to the roof of my stand which is quite high so its probably not even getting 30 full watts. But still growing...i dont think you need a lot of light.

It doesn't need a lot of light at all. It's algae -- it will grow under pretty much anything.

If you don't have a sump or a fuge to put it in, you could get a clear tupperware container and punch holes in it for flow. Then hang the tupperware inside the tank.

I have mine in a old hang on filter. I think mine is getting too much light, it is growing cyno in it.:frustrat:

I had mine under a 18 watt flourescent light strip and it didn't grow too well. the bulbs may have been 20 years old. who knows. I swapped that out for a 90 pc floodlight bulb from home depot. now the stuff grows like crazy. it went from a small wad the size of my fist, to a wad that fills a 7 gallon fuge in under a month.

If you have too many problems bust out the big guns with chemiclean. It worked wonders for me.
