Cheato Issue

I'm just wondering what it takes to make chaeto thrive. I've got some in my refugium with a cf (5000k) bulb that runs 8 hr \ day. It's not dying, but it doesn't seem to be growing much.
Do I need to increase the time the bulb is on?

What is your nitrate level? If you have 0 nitrates, then it has no nutrients for it to feed off of. I've run my chaeto both 24/7 and alternating....to be honest, neither made a difference to me (I've switched back to alternating day/night)...chaeto is growing as quickly as before.

Also, if you haven't already, make sure there is flow for the chaeto to tumble in.

Thanks...That could very well be the issue. Since I only have corals in so far the last I checked my nitrates were 0.
