Colt Coral question

I have a colt coral that keeps losing it's branches. I catch them and put them in the sand next to a rock and they attach and start growing as a new colt coral. Is this common? I have 4 new frags within the last couple days. Thanks

they can do that when mine was spreading a brach would stick to the rock next to it then seperate.

I've never seen a cladiella(colt) reproduce in that way.Like Yote mentioned in another thread..are you sure its not a capnella(kenya tree) coral?Definitely common for capnellas to reproduce like that.

sounds like kenya tree to me also. I started with one kenya tree and now I have 5 or 6. I just wish they werent a dull brownish color.
