CPR protien skimmer refugium

    ( i posted somewhere else and wasnt sure how to move the post so im reposting here )
    I have a 55g I want to put corals in so im getting the marineland 24 hour led with the white, blue and moon lighs and since my tank is not drilled I came across the CPR hob fuge/skimmer and was wondering if anyone had any input on it this is the large one its 25" long 3"wide and 12" deep[​IMG]

    I would go with a separate skimmer and HOB Fuge. The issue is the skimmer, you get what you pay for. Ive seen just the fuge portion selling for the same price as the skimmer/fuge that I found. Look into the AquaC Remora for a skimmer or ReefOctopus.
    Then try and find a HOB filter that could easily be turned into a fuge. In the end I think you could do a lot better and have better results then going with the all in 1 system.
