CuC for 29 Gallon

Jordan

Reefing newb
I have quite a bit of detritus on the floor of my tank. I am thinking that my clean up crew is just not enough. In the tank right now I have the following:

Scarlet Cleaner Shrimp
Blood Red Fire Shrimp
Yellowtail Damsel
Turbo Snail
Cerith Snail
Nassarius Snail
2x Red Hermits
1x Blue Hermit

After looking at the CUC "packs" that are sold at various retailers I assume that I am severely lacking. I figured with only having a single damsel and 2 shrimp that I would not need as large a CUC right away.

I am assuming I need about 5x more hermits, 20 or so more snails and perhaps and emerald crab? (At least according to the inventory on a CUC package).

Your thoughts?

Nassarius snails are a must for your sand bed, they help stir the sand. I would suggest a Serpeant Starfish as well. They help clear up detritus. Plus, they're fun to feed. As for emeralds, I've never had luck keeping one long term, even with proper parameters and careful acclimating. Others will chime in. Good luck.

We do love gobies. I will look into getting a sand sifting goby. I will pick up some more Nass snails tonight.
