Hi all, I have always bought live rock in the past but I would like to save some money and cure it myself. I have a 29 gallon BC that has been running for 4 years with no problems. I would like to start a 35 gallon. I have about 50 pounds of rock that I had pulled out of a 55 gallon about 5 years ago. The rock has been in 5 gallon buckets and of course it is completely dried out with nothing living on it. Any tips for curing this?

take a rock out of the mature tank to seed and wait a few weeks

Set up a big rubbermaid tote with saltwater, power head , your rock and a shrimp, let it cycle!!! Clean the rock before you begin your cycle, add to your tank a few pieces at a time if thats what you are plan on doing
