without cycling can I add a bangi cardanle (sorry about spelling) to cycle the tank instead of a pice of shrimp?

I would strongly discourage as that will probably kill that fish. If you don't have a piece of raw shrimp then ghost feed some fish food in the tank.

No, cycling a tank with a fish is pretty much just slowly killing a living being. Yes it would work but its really not a good thing to do. Why waste the extra money on a live fish that is going to die a painful death when a piece of shrimp is so cheap and already dead?

any grocery store in the fish department. Make sure it is unseasoned and raw.

will using prime help speed up the cycling prose this tank is 10 gal

It's suppose to a small amount but I never noticed a major difference.

Prime will really do nothing to speed up the cycling process. I've heard this stuff works.

A 10 gallon tank will no take a super long time to cycle for the most part. Mine 56 took 3 weeks.

Supposedly when it detoxifies the ammonia and nitrite it makes it easier to be converted to the next level but I have no idea how you could prove that.

Prime and the Ammo lock are mostly used when and if you have an Aquarium spike in a tank with live fish. It will make it so the Aquarium lever is not as dangerous to you fish. When I first start I was told nothing in this hobby happens fast. So just use live shrimp or it can be done with PURE Aquarium, but thats another story and let nature take it course.
