d2mini's Epic Fantabulous New Reef Build

D, do you air condition your garage too? I imagine it gets pretty hot in there during the summer, or even winter.....
Nope, it gets pretty hot in my garage. I have a chiller for the warmer months. But two walls share with the house so they are insulated, my garage door is insulated, and the garage faces east with the biggest uninsulated wall facing north so that probably helps a little too.

I seen the video and you use a cal. Reactor, what's all those brs jugs for?
The CaRx is new. Still dialing it in and may just hold on to the doser for those times when i need to make adjustments. And i still have to dose magnesium.

Got some new pics!
I'm loving these new lights!!!!

This was one that was nothing but a dull stick for the past year.
Now a couple months after the switch...

http://www.aquatraders.com/72in-Metal-Halide-HQI-T5-Aquarium-Light-p/54269.htm <--- In case you decide to switch to HQI. Easier to get a different color spectrum bulb for it :p. And the unit itself is actually cheap as hell.

http://www.aquatraders.com/Odyssea-250W-Double-Ended-Metal-Halide-Bulb-p/64309.htm <--- And for the price of the bulbs... it might be worth a shot? Normally metal halide bulbs are like 40-60$ or so.

The fixture itself comes with bulbs already for that price. I've used their products for a bit now, and have to say they are not bad. And they stand behind them. Just my two cents :)

Thanks but i got the mogul base and upgraded to the magnetic ballasts specifically to run Radiums. :)

What did you do with your LED's ?? i have ben actually thinking of adint some T5 to my LED's to see how that works out. Seen a couple people running LED's with T5 and they get great color and growth. i got some nice color but IDK its weird couse somethings grow fast and other grow slow.

Ya, adding T5 will give you more even light spread/wrap around your coral.

Here's a good example of how that improved the undersides of some of my coral.
The "LED" pic was taken a couple weeks after the switch to MH. The "MH/T5" pic was taken recently, so a few months into the switch.
