So I still can't get the acan to get going, I've been trying to feed it and I think it may be getting a little but it's receding like crazy a lot of the time, it's in the middle o the tank halfway up, should I move it up or down? It's getting a good amount of flow also.

Any tips to getting it to get al puffed up and stay that way and actually start growing steadily?

How long has it been in your tank?
Try shading it some with some plastic screen.Under halides, corals need to be acclimated to the light.

It's been in there for a month, but hasn't looked great ever and never really fed, it doesn't let out tentacles when you need it, will these come back

On another forum they told me to put it in the sandbed and an area with less flow so thats what i did

how long will it take for it to let it's tentacles out again and looking good again?

Thats a question that only the Acan can answer.I know you've got plenty of light for it.
Have you checked to see if its expanding the tentacles at night? If thats not it,then I'm lost.
    Hope it perks up though.

Acans are typically pretty slow growers. I had some and never saw their tentacles, but they still did okay.
