Darwins gone mad.....

Reefing newb
We have had a pair of Darwins since feb and they have been no issues, lately we added a Strawberry Pseudochromis which I am so sorry I did (just another reason not to take the word from my LFS as she stated they were not aggressive at all lol) Our clowns have become very aggressive and just destroyed one of our Fire shrimp, literally ripped it in half. Is this due to our new resident or is this a common tendency in clowns?

:frustrat:

Clowns can be very territorial. I think that the addition caused them to think they needed to defend their territory. Hopefully, they will get used to the new addition and quit attacking things.

Sorry to hear about your loss. :(

Another possibility is that your clowns may have recently spawned and were protecting their nest if the shrimp got too close.
