no clue what a thermos trade is. I know what a thermos is (unless it doesn't mean the thing you drink from)

A thermos trade?I'm not trying to get somebodies overgrown kenya forest.

Seriously,it hasn't been done that I know of.My thinking is not to many corals are going to be able to ship in a thermos.

Yeah a few people on here were talking about it awhile back. I remember Biff and DOC being in on it and if I remember right it was going to be better stuff that way no one is stuck with junk.

A thermos trade is were people send coral through the mail in a chain type way. Some send junk some send nice stuff.

I have been doing a little trading through the mail, but havn't done a actual thermos trade so I always knew what I was getting. Even though I knew what I was getting I still got screwed twice.

We discussed it but never went through with it because we determined that there weren't enough people on here that would be able to part with higher-end pieces and shipping costs would be prohibitive.

For those of you who don't know what it is, participants sign up, and the first person buys an insulated thermos. They then send (overnight) a frag of some sort in the thermos to the next person on the list. Then that person sends a frag of something to the next person, etc. The thermos gets rotated around, and when it gets back to the first person, the cycle starts again. This is a great way to diversify our tanks and share corals, but we decided that paying overnight shipping for one frag is just not something people would be cool with (myself included). I think this would work better for people in a local club, they could "surprise" the next person with a frag, and just deliver the thermos by hand.
