Do anyone know a natural reef safe method for removing nitrates ? ( other than water changes)
i heard about adding sugar or something like thaat ... what do you think ???

just takes time. new tanks are gonna have nitrates. some dose sugar or vodka.

You can add a refugium with macroalgae. But water changes are still the best way. Dosing sugar or vodka can be dangerous and can crash your tank unless you research it and know what you are doing. If done correctly, it will lower nitrates.

Not overstocking or over feeding and water changes are your best defense. Besides that, using RO water is important. That being said, you can look into bio pellet reactors for nitrate removal

Add some cheato to your system, that should help.

check local lfs or a local reef club. many lfs can order it for you. i wanna say reefcleaners.org may have it also.

Where you live... I don't know. Fish stores would be your best bet.
