I know this isn't really related but are the sailfert test kit better than the red sea ones? I got the red sea magnesium test kit thinking it looked better than the sailfert but I'm getting really high readings.
The only real problem I've had with API test kit is that once I tested nitrates when the bottles were low and it read like off the charts, so I got a new kit and it read below 20 ppm. -_-
Just want to chime in on a similar subject, not trying to hijack the thread. One of my LFSs was out of Salifert NO3 test kits for awhile and I went through two Elos NO3 kits worth of tests. Both these kits would read a .5ish NO3 ppm at minimum even if I would test a clearly 0 nitrate tank. I had tested at least a dozen tanks with this kit.
The goofy thing is, I remember these guys saying that Elos was the future of testing, or something to that end in magazines.
