Sorry to chime in so late on this, but, for hair algae I agree with Chichi on raising your Mag levels. However, I'd say raise it to about 1800 by dosing daily until achieving the desired results (remember to NEVER dose unless you can test for it!). At around 1800, you'll be able to visually watch the hair algae bleach, and fade away. And, as long as you raise the mag correctly, it wont have any negative impact on any fish/corals/inverts. Sorry to chime in so late on that bud! Hope the rebuild continues going well :)

+1 maybe you need to put some teflon on the thread and replace the gasket to stop the leaking.

+1 to Sakura. Also, make sure you don't over tighten when you put it back together. A crack in the glass will require some form of epoxy :p
