Dumb Question....

Reefing newb
Ok this might be the dumbest question but I keep getting mixed signals about DKH and ALK. Are they the same thing just read differently? If they are two different things then what should DKH and ALK be at for having a mixed reef tank. The reason im asking is because im starting to venture into SPS and I want to make sure that my levels are where they are suppose to be. I believe the last time I checked my params i think my DKH was around 8-9 and my ALK was around 2.5. Are these ok? or do i need to adjust? If i need to adjust what is the best way to adjust DKH and ALK? Thanks again.

dKH (degrees of karbonate hardness) is a measurement of your alkalinity.
1 dKH = 0.35 meq/l = 17.9 ppm are all the same thing.
You want your alk to be in the 7-11 dKH range. The easiest and cheapest way to raise your alk is to dose Arm & Hammer baking soda.
