Reefing newb
I have had a big of a dilemma with my new tank , it overhangs the side by about 1/2 inch on each side . So I have built a think piece of plywood to place underneath the tank to that all of it is supported . My plan for this evening was to empty 80% of the water out into a container , carefully slide the wood underneath and then replace the same water straight back in . I only have 1 clown , a cleaner shrimp and a few crabs in there ........ Does this process sound ok to everyone????

Why not just use this opportunity to perform a water change? Adding the same water back in, or any large amount like you plan could stir up the sandbed and cause you to have a spikes in ammonia and nitrates. If it was me, do it as you plan, and then do a water change withing the next 24 hours or sooner.
