External Protein Skimmer pisses me off!

Got an external Reef Octopus 200 Recirculating Protein Skimmer a couple of weeks ago to replace my in-sump one. I didn't like the in-sump one because it's highly depends on the water height in the sump. Since my used sump doesn't have a separate section for skimmer, I have to adjust it almost everyday.

I was hoping the external skimmer could avoid such problem, but it has it completely totally different set of issues. I think mostly it's because it's still breaking in, but man! I have so many major flooding because of overflow. Sometimes the water just doesn't want to go down and I have to have the long tube thing adjust to almost wide open. :frustrat:

That same long tube thing that adjust how high the water rises got the most sneaking water leak as well. I watched it for hours to make sure it's water tight and the next day, water sips out and dripped down all the way to the basement!! :grumble:

I'm gonna either sell it or keep it until I have a place to put it into a DYI sump...
