Actually the blue (actinic) wavelength aids the corals with their coloring. So it's something they actually need, it just so happens that it looks cool to our eyes also.
This is the model I have. E-200W-3G-2:1
Bought from my LFS, first one a couple of weeks ago. I went yesterday to get some supplies, and they had all their LEDs on sale, great price couldn't turn down.
I tried a little experiment with my coralife fixtures. They are 36", each has one
39w 10.000K one 39w actinic. My tank is built into the wall. I moved the LEDs back a little almost even with back of the tank. I put the fluorescence back on and pushed them against the wall. So they are about 5" from the front of the tank. I like the color a better, I am going to replace the 10.000Ks with actinic's and see how that looks
