Feather duster worm

Hey there,

I've had my feather duster a couple months now. about 2 weeks ago it went into its tube and I haven't seen it since. The front of the tube is folded over and there's a little bit of algae on the tube. This morning when I looked in the tank i noticed these long strings like a mucous or something that it had produced, at the opening it seems to be thicker giving off a whitish tinge. Does anyone know if this means its dead? I don't want my water parameters to be thrown off if its rotting in there. Please help!

If you havent seen in a few weeks, i would assume that it has died

ok thanks, that was my conclusion as well, but i also saw they can go into hiding for a while. I guess I will have to get a new one. Thanks!

I would make sure that you are actually buying a feather duster, coco worms look very similar but are extremely hard to keep
