Filter feeder??

These sponge looking things are growing like crazy in the intake part of my sump and on the underside of some of my rocks it seems to like shade. It has a hole that goes all the way to the bottom in the middle, it doesn't respond to touch I even took one out to put in a glass for some of these pics. The biggest of them is about 3/4" long and the smallest I can see are 1/8".

Pineapple sponge perhaps. I have a few in my tank. Harmless filter feeders.

Yes that's a pineapple sponge

Harmless yes, And you can clean them out of your filters and things with hot water and scrubbing. However, If you are seeing a lot of growth you might want to check into your feeding habits and make sure that your phosphates aren't getting too high.

It is a rare thing around these parts. I love anything with saltwater werther it's fishing in the bay or aquariums. Lol.
