Mixed reviews? I have a media pad in the end game of my fuge. I HATE constantly cleaning it out, otherwise, the water can't get through to my return pump. I've noticed that the media gets clogged mostly with algae growing on and in it, although, occasionally a few pods get caught in there. Do I have to have it, or can I toss it altogether? Is it alright for a few pods and bits of algae from the fuge to go through the pump and back into the main tank? I do use egg crate to keep the chaeto from going over the baffle.

Toss it. It's more trouble than it's worth.

So it's ok for the little bits of chaeto, algae, and pods to end up in the DT?

Yeah. That's how pods are supposed to travel from your fuge to your DT. It's fine.

depending on the livestock you have in your DT, those pods and bits of chaeto are going to be a nice snack
