After half a dozen or so water changes, nitrates are finally coming down. I did a 50% change last night and it tested at 10 ppm, tested the same this morning. Going to do another 20 or so percent water change and see what that does.
I know canister filters aren't the best but we are upgrading our 55 gallon to a 90 gallon in February so we'll put in a sump at that time. But I changed all the media in the filter and plan on washing it every couple days.
Just so excited the tank is finally looking like it's calming down and we'll be able to add a new CUC soon.
