Does your tank meet the requirements for keeping corals? I.e. high output lighting, enough water flow, cycled tank etc?

Your actually better off getting your feet wet with than corals.
Start with a small hardy fish.

I won't recommend a damsel as your first small fish. They tend to be very nasty when you add your other fish...Maybe start with a royal gramma? clownfish? firefish?

Get a couple of firefish or neon gobies. Maybe a small clown.

start with fish. while you save money for equipment (skimmer, lights, powerheads etc) you get into good habits, ie. water testing, partial water changes, and researching exactly which corals you want and where they will go
