Fishing off Catalina Island yesterday...

    And all I caught was this, plus a baby sculpin. Started getting jealous watching the others on the boat catching big Yellowtail and barracuda. Oh well, it was a fun trip anyway!

    My brother caught an octopus years ago,when we lived in Texas.
    The deck hand wouldnt bring it on the boat and cut the line.
    You should have set the lil feller up his own tank:D

    The deckhands all told me it would be killer seabass bait, but it didn't get me any bites--too big, I imagine. I just let it go after about 20 minutes of jigging. My goal this year is to take out a 1.5 or 2 day overnighter that goes to Mexican waters and catch some big tuna. Now THAT would be a great time! Just gotta save up the cash and wait for the daily counts to get a bit higher.

    Not that I know of...
    Mostly off so cali coast is seabass, sand, calico bass, mackerel, catalina blue perch, barracuda, bonito, yellowtail, whitefish, cabazon, a few others.
