FOODS AND FEEDING - Marine fish and crustacean flesh, live grass shrimp, feeder fish. Feed 2-4 time a week.
AQUARIUM SUITABILITY - 8 (Venomous)
REEF COMPATIBILITY - Will eat ornamental shrimps, smaller fishes.
CAPTIVE CARE - Do not keep with fishes that feed on encrusting invertebrates or algae (pygmy angelfishes may persistently pick at the skin of smaller individuals). Do not keep with fishes that are less than 3/4 of it's total body length, reported to eat surgeon fish (deep bodied fish), long, slender forms as well (eels), good specimen for the reef, spends most of its time on the bottom. Provide with plenty of hiding places (caves and crevices in the rockwork). WARNING VENOMOUS SPINES, CARE IN CLEANING TANK, AND KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. DO NOT HANDLE WITHOUT ADEQUATE PROTECTION. Keep only one per aquarium, provide a sand bottom, can be kept with other scorpionfish but, will eat smaller specimens, this fish is a prominent predator, choose tank mates carefully.
