Free Dinos -How bad?

Someone wants to give us 30lbs of free LR but they said it has Dinoflagellates. Are Dinos infectious? Is it like algae in that you can get rid of it. Some pests can destroy a tank and you are never rid of them, some can be controlled but you are never rid of them and some can be completely killed.

Should I grab this rock or is it going to end up being a pain in the neck?

IMO, it will not be worth the effort. Dinos are a PITA!!!!! But you can get rid of them.

Sounds like I should just bleach the rock if I intend to use it.

My suggestion would be to bleach it also...guaranteed to kill those lil boogers.

Boiled it all for hours and now I stink like a back water canal in south Florida.
