You need a sufficient sandbed at least 7 inches I think, just because if there isnt enough sandbed, it damages the tail. The DSB could also cause problems though. Don't need too much flow, and a big tank.
Not a wise choice of animal to want to look after.

Is there nothing else in the vast choice of fish that would be easier to care for, and less requirements for care and a bigger tank that you cannot invest into?
So IMO, I think you should just not even consider it.
