Get Read, Get Set.... SUMP

I had the 1000 gph eshopps overflow with a mag 9.5 and it was very noisy. There is a "mini dorso" you can setup in the box to help with the gurgling. Also I would get the 1000 gph and use the 2nd side as a backup in case of a plugged drain. I don't think you need the hose clamps, zip ties work pretty well. and are not metal.

The hose clamps are fine if they are not use in water. That is what I use on my drains.

You may like the black hoses better.Green/brown algae coats the inside of clear hoses. No problems really, just ugly.May I suggest you go to HD or Lowe's for the drain hose.I really don't like the slinky drain hose, those ridges adds more noise to the drain.

Get creative and use PVC. Much more professional looking and quieter also. Plus, you can install valves for doing maintenance and flow preference.

Alright guys here are some pics of the build for the sump.. The bubble trap baffels are 1" apart and the center baffel for the buble trap is 2" from the bottom of the tank. I placed all baffels (accept for the center bubble trap baffel) 1/3 below tank top which is 4".. Let me know what you guys think...

looks good so far.Is there going to be a skimmer? looks kinda tight if there is going to be one. I like the top with out the rim

Did you make the tank, too? Where's the top rim? Looks nice :) I knew you'd see it my way sooner or later. It just took Biff threatening you with fish death!

i thought the same thing so i tested the unit out and its pretty stable without the rim.. I filled the unit up and slid it around the floor lol the seams never moved :)

Alright i set up my new sump and here are a few pics. i will take more tomorrow or when the tank clears up a bit...
