Do Not Listen To Me!!!
Pocillopora Coral Fiji

Short Tentacle Plate Coral

The Plate is 3.5" and the Pocillopora is about 3.5" as well.

Paid $109 for them.

They had another plate coral that was $20 less but it was not as pretty but it was still awesome an purple.

Both are easy care from what I read. They are being dropped off today.

I am also getting a bunch of Frags tonight or tomorrow and I don't know what yet. I traded a logo design for a bunch. I will probably grab some good ones like Montipora or something that will grow to an expensive coral over a year or so.

I have an eggcrate frag rack in my tank, you can see it in the pix here - https://www.livingreefs.com/latest-photos-my-tank-t36988.html

I was thinking of using all the extra Acrylic to make a nice one but then I thought about it.

The Eggcrate already has a brown growth on it, you know the normal stuff and it has water blowing across it so the acrylic would get it too.

I would have to take it out once a month or every other month and wipe it down.

I have plenty of acrylic and I figured since I can't hang it on the side because of the lights, I would have to put it it the front. I wish it was more under the lights.

I thought I could build a bridge that runs from front to back under the lights but it would be high up and close to the bulbs. Not sure about that although the frag rack now is close to the light.

I can easily drill holes for the plugs and it would look cool too. I can cut the acylic with a exacto knife and some muscle. It is 1/4 inch thick.

Yeah but in my tank under 14K it probably won't be so great. They take their pix under 400Watt 20K MH.

I have those Marineland Pros with the 3 150 14K and then I had 8 Actinic bulbs until one dies after 2 months.

Listen to this.

I now have 4 Actinics in the back of the light(back of tank) and in the front there are 2 10K's in the back of the front bank and 2 Actinics in the front of the front bank and I have to say while the tank is still blue with these 8 bulbs on it is just slightly whiter now and I actually like it better. 6 Blue and 2 White.

Ok here are the 2 corals in the tank today. They are of course not as colorful as the Divers Den photos but they have better lights haha.

The one is really a pink color so it looks nice and the other is colorful but I already saw some coming back.

I noticed my Six Line Wrasses has the same color pink on it as it was roaming the new coral probably looking for food. I also found a Porcelain Crab taking refuge in it haha.

I took these photos with my new iphone 4s 16gig. It really takes great pix. If these were bigger you would see the tiniest polyps.

Now at first I got some blurry ones because I was dumb. It also has the feature that takes 2 photos of the same shot and one is supposed to be enhanced so you may see dubs. I thought they just looked lightened with ghosting but I need to get more info on using it.

I also uploaded a bunch that were other stuff to show the tank some. I will also post these in my tank pix thread heehee.

Here is the final resting spot for the new coral. I left it at the bottom for 2 days so it needs to be at the top in a lot of light as far as I have read.

I also posted other pix since I just signed up for this Flickr thing and can have bigger pix.

I can have even bigger ones but this is how big they are as of now. Next time I won't reduce them as much. May not have to but won't know yet.

I run a 30" monitor and a 22" one so to me most things are small.

Hope you like these.
