Reefing newb
Hi, I'm new to the saltwater aquarium hobby. I've been reading different books and any information that I could get my hands on about nano reefs. I just wanted to hear from some experienced reefers out there. I have a couple of questions...
1. When I cycle my tank, should I use those products that say they could speed things up or just live rock?
2. Should I use fish while cycling? If yes, what species?
3. Are there any easy-to-make mistakes that happened to you or a friend, so I can avoid them?
Thanks

Hello!
Check out this thread:

1 - You can use an additive that claims to speed up the cycle. They don't always work, so don't count on them. But it's not going to hurt. If you cycle the good old fashioned way, the tank will get there eventually, so in my opinion you are better off just saving your money.

2 - No, don't use fish while cycling. It's cruel to the fish and not necessary.

3 - Don't rush. Don't overstock your tank. A good stocking limit is 1 fish per 10 gallons in saltwater. Check out the articles here too:
