New lab puppy coming! Thought I would share a couple pics. I pick her up on Labor Day. I already have a kitten that will be a year old in September (just one, this isn't Biffer's house ). I've wanted a pure bred Labrador for decades (since high school). I can't wait to pick her up. I'm planning on training her to be a family pet first, but *hopefully* a great bird dog second :D.

Frickin' adorable. NOTHING beats a new puppy.

Congrats!!! I am sure she found a good home. It is always heart warming to hear these stories.

Oh, it will definitely be spoiled. She's only ten weeks old. However, she is already retrieving and the owners of her mother bird hunt. Besides, the way I hunt, there's no way I can do any worse :grumble:.

My Grandad was going to be teaching me to hunt but had Alzheimer's and passed on before I could hunt with him. He is the biggest reason I hunt. He was an incredible hunter who also was great at taxidermy. I have a small deer mount that he did. The person who requested it didn't want it so he gave it to my Great Grandad, then I received it after my Grandfather died. Anyhow, hope noone minds me going down memory lane.

    Not at all.
My Granddad on my mothers side wasnt able to hunt. But I remember him fussing about lead shot in rabbit hams after the rest of us went rabbit hunting.
And spent many a night sitting beside a fire, along a dirt road, listening to coon hounds with the other Granddad.
    Miss em both.

Thanks Yote. I'd start a thread on Grandparents, but I doubt there is enough room on the server for what I could say about my Granddad. Sounds like you are the same. He's been gone fifteen years, but it seems like yesterday. I have rarely met anyone of such personal integrity or courage in this day and age.

Oh yeah, her name is espresso. My wife and I are big coffee drinkers. Plus, she's as black as espresso. It was either that or Imperial Stout. I figure it would have been Imperial for short and that just didn't sound right. OK, yeah, my wife kinda picked it out ... but I like it.
