Many people place a T before the DI stage for drinking water since you don't want to drink the DI water.

I had that problem too! I was using tap water for my water changes, now I use RO/DI from wal mart .88 a gallon. Also bought the powder stuff and it didn't hurt my fish or the inverts. leave your light off for a while if you can and it should start to clear up. when you do your water changes just remove as much of the cyno as you can, it will go away.
