I never said anything bad against him. I just said I didn't care for him and didn't like what he presents to the public. I don't know him personally, never met him so I can't say what he is like in his private life.

    More about Deforest: From IMDB

    Mini Biography
DeForest Kelley was born in Atlanta Georgia January 20, 1920. He graduated from highschool at 16 and went on to sing at the church where his father was a baptist minister. At seventeen he made his first trip outside the state to visit an uncle in Long Beach California, he intended to stay for 2 weeks but ended up staying a year. Upon returning home he told his parents he was moving to California to become an actor . His mother encouraged him but the idea didn't go over well with his father. In California Kelley was spotted by a Paramount scout while doing a Navy Training film. He went on acting in many westerns and eventually played the role of Dr. Leonard McCoy which changed his life forever.

Little known trivia: Deforest was actually given the role of Spok first but he asked to play Bones. Can you imagine?

You would have to be a true ST nerd to get that reference: the guy that played McCoy in the newest Star Trek movie, Karl Urban was Eomer. Someone photoshopped Deforest into the LOTR picture as Eomer, get it?

    Here: Karl Urban as Eomer:

Naw I just didn't like Voyager really, but then again I never really gave it a chance either. I just didn't care for the character. At the time I had a lot going on in my personal life and didn't have much time for TV, so I never really got into that series. DS9 was ok in the beginning towards the end I didn't care for it. And no Picard ruled out of all of captains he had to be one of my favorites.

So, you don't like TOS, you don't like Voyager, you don't like DS9, what are your feelings about Enterprise, STNG? Hmmmmm, me thinks you're not quite ready for membership into the Cool Star Trek club. Maybe a Jr membership.

OK, making a cake for Deforest. I was going to do something with peaches because he's from Atlanta, but I used all my peaches in a cobbler the other day. Should I make Boston Creame Cake or Raspberry Vanilla Cake?

No I said DS9 was ok in the beginning, just didn't care for it in the end. :) Loved NG and Enterprise. Liked the older movies (got kinda grossed out in the Wrath of Kahn when they put the worm in the guy's ear though) and the new movie was good, though it was kinda weird the alternate reality thing. I think Picard was one of the best captains because most of the time he kept his cool. There is nothing sexier than a guy under pressure and keeping his cool.

Maybe. I don't know. The times I have actually caught Voyager it was ok. I really don't care for the actress who plays Janeway. There hasn't been much that I've seen her in that I have cared for. I think if a different actress had been cast to play the part I would have liked it more.

So, we're watching Star Trek: The Voyage Home aka: Save the Wales, just made a Boston Cream Cake (We're Calling it Georgia Chocolate and Cream Cake) and when this is over, we're dressing up in our Star Trek Uniforms to have a Star Trek TOS marathon: the best of Season One! A fitting tribute to Deforest Kelley methinks!
