Has anyone gone to the Georgia Aquarium?

    I've been thinking about taking my girlfriend up there for a roadtrip.

    Has anyone been there? I'd like to hear about your experience!

    It's a 3 hour drive from me but I've still not been. Shoot, only been to the one Chattanooga one time and that was right after they first opened.

    A guy from one of my LFS went there for a trip, and took like 1000 pictures. After seeing those, they have some really awesome stuff that I'd love to see. I'm pretty sure I have my mind set on going around the end of the month

    Every time I think about going, I talk myself out of it. Mainly because I hate driving through Atlanta. But in reality, Chattanooga is just about as bad.

    I think I'm going on the 22nd when they have extended hours 9am-9pm

    I just spent 3 days (two weeks in a row) in Atlanta, staying right down the st from it, and it closed every day at 5pm! So by the time I got out of work it was too late. :(

    I have been and the main display will blow your mind. The glass is like 2 foot thick. It is something that you will never forget!

    I am like Joe I live 3 hours away and I have yet to go! I even have family that I could have stayed at and gone to see the aquarium but not yet... If you want to see a nice aquarium in Tn go to the one in Gatlinburg. I have been a member of the aquarium here off and on since it has opened but it just does not beat the one in Gatlinburg. But I hear the one in Atlanta is awesome to see especially when their exhibits don't die.

    3 hours away!! Lucky U. I live in a geographical oddity (I have waited for a time in my life where I could use that word:bounce:!!!) called central Arkansas. I am going to have to check check out Gatlinburg.

    When you hit the Gatlinburg Aquarium, plan on spending most of the day.
    While it's no where near the size of Chattanooga and Atlanta, it's hard to pull yourself away from the displays. Especially when there are Mako's swimming just over head.

    It's been decided! I finally talked my girlfriend into going, and putting up with me staring at fish for hours.

    We leave the 21st, spend ALL day there the 22nd, come back the 23rd. Then I'm flying up to Missouri with the family to spend our christmas in the vacation house

    Can't wait!
