No nuclear waste goes in the ocean. Where did you hear that? It gets stored at the nuclear power facilities, at this point, and there really isn't much waste anyway. In reality, a facility was built in the middle f Nevada where no one lives that is designed to hold all the nuclear waste we can generate. It has never once been used despite millions/billions spent to make it.

And, by the way, if we built new nuclear plants the reactor rods which are currently treated as waste could be recycled and reused.

THe russians knew they built Chernobyl wrong, and they intentionally disabled all of it's fail safes. Dumbasses.

It's NIMBY syndrome -- Not In My Back Yard. Tons of people are "for" nuclear power -- they just don't want the power plants or waste facilities in their states.

I deal with NIMBY a lot at work -- I do the environmental clearances for new cell towers. Most of them, you wouldn't even know it's a cell tower. They are disguised as a cactus, palm tree, pine tree, or hidden in a church's steeple, a traffic light, or a street light. But you have to put a legal ad in the paper every time you intend on building one. The public complains -- they don't want an ugly cell tower in their neighborhood. But you'd better believe they want their perfect coverage from their provider at the same time. So where are you supposed to put these things then?

There are a lot of problems with nuclear power -- problems that need to be addressed and fixed. It's far from a perfect technology. But it's better than what we are using now -- fossil fuels. Nuclear power does not produce a lot of waste like it used to -- 95% of the waste can be recycled and reused in other applications. Modern nuclear power plants are extremely safe, and a meltdown like Three Mile Island or Chernobyl would be near impossible with the types of failsafes that are mandated today.

Oh my god. No I didn’t. I never said anything of the sort. Reading comprehension! I said after the law was signed they said it did not immediately go into effect and was really set for 2014.
So its private industry’s fault the gov’t wrote and past a bad law. I think not. Place the blame where it belongs square on the people that passed it.
This guy is trashing the constitution left and right and for some reason his groupies are falling in behind him lock step or should I say goose step?

99.9 % Right. For the most part banks don't service loans. Most of that work is done by a 3rd party.

Since we are now 200B in the hole with the changes made back to the orginal bill and moved some of the tax increases back to 2018 putting farther int he hole. I don't think your going to have to worry about that.

threatening to kill him, or making a movie about killing him or making fun of how he speaks or how he can’t speak with a teleprompter. Oh wait.

So go somewhere else what’s the hang up with NV. AZ is used by many private companies because of its geological stability, lack of hurricanes and tornados etc. put it there. There are several back up systems for majors companies there incase something bad happens to their primary system. Montana is nice and empty. Colorado and Nebraska were major targets for our Russian and Chinese missiles. They lived with that threat for years what’s a few rods in a bunker.

    1. We already spent bajillions of dollars. it's already constructed. It's in one of the most isolated places-- ie, no people-- in our country.

    2. Doesn't matter where you go, people won't want it in their state.

how do you guys even know what you are saying is true? Both sides...

Why should i believe anything anyone of you says as the correct answer? lol

This thread is a perfect example of people thinking they know shit...where is the undeniable evidence? and by undeniable, i dont mean a link to some idiots opnion or some douchebags survey. Show me undeniable proof. Convince me.

waste of bandwidth if you ask me...

because I was one letter away from becoming a nuclear chemist.

and I said so. Argue with a redhead at your own risk.

as for undeniable evidence, there's no such thing. the only thing that is undeniable is that you can never actually prove the truth-- you can only prove a hypothesis false.

    2 + 2 = 4 is undeniable.

so basically no 1 person can know the entire truth. too many elements going on. therefore, this thread is a bunch of opinions and speculation. and therefore, just a bunch of arguments without a real conclusion.

Actually, calculus says 2 + 2 =5 for sufficiently large values of 2.

Besides that, numbers are totally a construction of the human mind, created to help our feeble grey matter deal with the complexities of the world. They, too, don't really exist.

I don't know.... buy me one, and I'll test that theory.

Actually in order to really test it correctly, I need to "try" each on a minimum of 3 times, and we'd have to have LOTS of individual test subjects.

Then I'll analyze the statistics and get back to you.
