Hello All! New to the site, and to saltwater...

Stocking rates are totally misleading and I try to avoid them as much as possible. There are so many other factors that go into what you put into your tank.

I recommend finding a few fish you like to keep (number of fish in direct relation to size of tank) and find a good balance there. For my 46 gallon I'd like to have a few different types. A fun schooling fish (Chromis), some bottom dwellers (engineer blenny, mandarin goby) we will probably be adding something to play hopefully play in the Xenia (clown) and a few others fish just for fun (fire fish and a wrasse are in the running).
