Living in Hawaii, I am assuming you are going to try and collect most of your fish. So please be sure to follow the local collection laws and make sure you research fish BEFORE you collect them. Once they are in captivity, you can never release them back because you could introduce a foreign parasite that could devastate the local ecosystem. This is especially important because not every fish can live happily in every tank. Most species of fish are off limits for a 30 gal tank because of their small size.
